Welcome
Let's begin with an overview of what's in store for you in the coming weeks and within this project guide!
If you're a beginner, the first few chapters will introduce you to the fundamentals of the R
and Python
tracks, respectively. You'll also find helpful explanations to address any initial questions you might have as you embark on your coding journey. There will be a brief introduction to the Data Science track to help you kick-start your project. So, let's get started with the basics!
You will collaborate on your project with small groups of fellow students. This not only accelerates project completion but also enhances the quality of your results. Our experience has shown that contrasting university backgrounds and different opinions and ideas often yield the best results. Moreover, working on a project together is more fun than coding alone! Each group can have a maximum of four members, and you have the freedom to select your teammates independently. We strongly encourage you to collaborate with students from various departments.
When submitting your final project, please note that, for certification purposes, each individual must submit their project separately. However, the content within your group's submissions can be identical.
For additional information, you can join our "Introduction to Coding" Workshop on November 22, 2023, or attend our first Coding Meetup on November 29, 2023.
The Netflix case study and the associated project guide have been developed and written from scratch by TechAcademy's Data Science team. Jessica Weigel and Isabel Schnorr developed the project in R
, while Lea Karoza, Moritz Schwerdt and Rocky Auer developed it in Python
.
